Program Administrators are now able to designate coaches and mentees using the SIMPL Web Platform “Coaching” tab. The coach role can be given to any faculty / supervisor within the same program. Only trainees can be designated as mentees. 

On the SIMPL Web Platform, the dropdown selection for “Coach” includes all faculty / supervisors within a program. The “Mentee” dropdown selection includes all trainees within the program. A coach can have multiple mentees and a mentee can have multiple coaches.

When a coach is assigned at least one mentee, the “Coach” role is automatically added to their program membership. This role can be removed by ending their role as a Coach on the “Coaching” tab or by going to the “Users” tab, editing the user and removing the “Coach” membership. When doing this via the “Users” tab, you will be prompted to confirm removal of the user from their assigned mentees.

Once a user has the “Coach” role designated and has been assigned at least one mentee, they will be able to view their assigned trainee’s dashboard (available at https://reports.simpl.org/sign-in). If the coach is assigned more than one mentee, they will have a dropdown selector in the top left of the dashboard that allows them to select the trainee they want to view. Please note, this view of the trainee dashboard is exactly what the trainee can see for themselves. 

Program administrators can unassign / reassign mentees and remove the “Coach” role from users in their program at any time.
